Helping people move forward
About ActuateYou
ActuateYou helps people find clarity and move forward when something important is at stake.
We work with individuals and organisations navigating responsibility, complexity and change. Our role is to create the space to think clearly, understand what is really happening, and turn insight into practical action.
This might involve supporting someone through an important decision, offering a focused conversation when something needs to move urgently, creating a small trusted space for shared thinking and challenge, or helping shape the words that unlock progress.
Across all of our work, the focus is the same: clarity, confidence, and movement.
About the Founder
ActuateYou was founded by Jo Howorth. Jo brings over 20 years’ experience across higher education, innovation ecosystems and leadership development, including senior leadership roles at the University of Leeds.
She has designed major programmes, supported leaders through complex change, and worked with researchers, founders and organisations to turn ideas into real initiatives.
Across all of those roles, one pattern has stayed constant: people seek Jo out when something matters and they need clarity to move forward.
Clients often describe her as calm, perceptive and practical, with a rare ability to understand both people and systems at the same time.
That experience means we understand both the human and organisational realities of change.
"Jo makes things happen that otherwise wouldn’t. In environments dominated by inertia and process, her ability to add value is incredibly powerful. She brings clarity and focus to innovation and has shaped some of the most meaningful development work our researchers have experienced.”
Luke Windsor, Dean, Doctoral College, University of Leeds
“Jo is entrepreneurial, creative and highly effective. She brings people together, manages complex stakeholder environments with ease and delivers real impact. She is a breath of fresh air and an asset to any team.”
Jayne Glennon, Director of Philanthropy, University of Leeds
